One year to go
I used the time off to my advantage and really worked on getting strong again, becoming faster, fixing small nagging muscle problems at physio and using visualization techniques as much as possible to keep my head in the game. Looking back now, I can say that staying back to rejuvenate my body was the best thing I could have done to prepare me for this next lag of racing.

One year marks the day
Today, January 11th 2013 marks exactly one year since I blew my knee in the finals at Alpe D'Huez, France. It has been a difficult journey to say the least but I am extremely happy with my progression and overall comeback to date.

Game Plan
We worked out a mental plan of attack for this season. Talking to her really put things in perspective for me and brought to light that it will be most important for me to be patient, focus on technical goals rather than results and evaluate each day based on the goals I have set out for myself.

Final Training Camps
The return to snow protocol after my injury has now turned into a return to race protocol. The last two camps, one in Switzerland and one in Alberta, have been phenomenal in terms of progression and getting comfortable again on my boards.

Visiting Hallie: The Greatest Honour
I recently heard from Graham again; he sent me a photo of the finished product. I couldn't believe what I saw: a life-sized image of me bursting out of Hallie's bedroom wall. I decided that I would have to make a special trip to see the mural first hand.

Back into the groove
July was the start of my strength training to rebuild the muscles in my leg that had withered away. You don't realize how many easy tasks you take for granted until you're injured. That's what training was like for me. Basic easy movements were extremely difficult and took tremendous mental strength just to get through them.

Remembering Nik Zoricic
I received a text from Mari at 4 am, Saturday morning on March 10th 2012. Her text simply said, "Something horrible has happened".
At that time the rest of the team was in Grindelwald, Switzerland frantically rushing around in a panic and Niko was getting lifted to the hospital in Innsbruck, Switzerland
